Water is the most important molecule needs by all organism in biosphere. Water used by cell as the main component in cell building and support it metabolism. Related to water, Dr. Yasuhiro Kato, a researcher from Aqua Lab, Health Science Center, Peking University, China, explained that the importance of good water quality to support the life of human. He suggested that polluted water need very long time for being purified.

Dr. Kato explained these story in the Seminar of Bioscience Role in Sustainable Water Usage at SMA Kornita (30/10). The event that attended by dozens of Kornita’s students, also attended by some of Biology’s students. Acted as moderator at this event was Dr. Kanthi Arum Widayati, also, Windra Priawandiputra Ph.D was head of this event committee.  

At this event, Dr. Bambang Suryobroto, Animal Biosystematics and Ecology Lab, Department of Biology, also explained about role of water in building human body. Moreover, he correlated the water in cell to Body Mass Index. In addition to Dr. Bambang, Dr. Achmad Farajallah, Animal Physiology and Behavior Lab, Department of Biology, also spoke about water. He told the audiences that Islam, the Indonesia’s largest religion, already have guidance to the people to conserve the water.
