First day of the Summer Course in Ethnomedicine (IPB - Univ. of Sydney)

Today is the first day of the Summer Course in Ethnomedicine. This event is collaboration activity between Bogor Agricultural University and the University of Sydney, Australia. The event will be held until 22th January 2016. The participants are coming from students of both universities.
The event organized by Department of Biology, Department of Forest Resource Conservation and Ecotourism, and Biophacmaca Research Center. Some faculty members of the Department of Biology are members of organizing committee. They have been prepared the event from months ago.
The event will consist of several activities such as lecture and field visit. The lectures will give the participant knowledge in Indonesian holistic healthy life, bio-cultural diversity, biodiversity conservation, jamu (Indonesia traditional medicine), Indonesia medicinal plants, bacterial and fungal plant endhophyte, and bee (honey and propolis). Participants also planned to visit IPB Culture Collection (IPBCC), Biopharmaca Research Center, Kampung Djamoe Organik Cikarang, Holistic Tourist Hospital Purwakarta, and Saung Ujo Bandung.
