Introduction & Objectives

International Conference in Biology (ICoBio) is a biennial scientific event organized by the Department of Biology, Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia. This event is designed for international and national biological research scientists to gather and exchange knowledge as well as to strengthen research networks amongst biological scientists in a fruitful environment. Currently, Department of Biology of IPB is organizing “The 2nd International Conference on Biosciences (ICoBio) 2017” that will be held on 8-10 August 2017 at IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. The first  IcoBio event was organized successfully on August 2015.
The current theme of the 2nd IcoBio is “from gene to ecosystems” which covers broad range of biological research. This particular theme may accommodate diverse biological-related researchers from various countries and scientific institutions to communicate their research and expertise during the event. To date, a remarkable broad range of scientific disciplines has been applied to uncover the genetic information, regulation, cellular function and its corresponding roles or bioprospecting in the ecosystems. As a result, better understanding regarding biological phenomena as well as their applications in agriculture, food safety, and security, industrial, medical, and environmental conservation have emerged tremendously. It is worth noting that, the upcoming 2nd IcoBio event is genuinely highlight the importance aspect of basic and applied research on biosciences, as they are essential for sustainable living. 

It is a matter of great privilege for us to invite you to contribute a research paper and participate in 
the deliberations of the conference. We look forward to welcome you at Bogor, the home of Bogor Agricultural University.
 
Objectives
1. To gain insights on current trends in biology research and teaching, such as the essential of interdisciplinary approaches to understanding biology and its applications. 
2. To foster networking among biologists and relevant stakeholders to accelerate our effort in understanding biological phenomena and their applications for sustainable living

Participant

This conference can be participated by university students and lecturers, professionals from government research institutions, private sectors, and non-government organization. Policy or decision makers in biosciences-based sectors will also benefit from attending this conference.

Publication

Selected papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (indexed by Scopus and Web of Science) and HAYATI Journal of Biosciences (hosted by Elsevier).

Program and Side Event

1. The 2nd International Conference on Biosciences 2017

• Date: 8-9 August 2017
• Place: Institut Pertanian Bogor International Convention Center (IPBICC), Bogor, Indonesia

Participants of International Conference on Biosciences (IcoBio) 2017  are expected 200 persons. This conference can be followed by university students and lecturers, professionals from government research institutions, private sectors, and non-government organization. Policy or decision makers in bio-sciences-based sectors will also benefit for attending this conference. In this conference, we invite speakers from various countries as keynote speakers and invited speakers to share their experiences in the field of science for scientific purposes. The speakers come from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, United States of America, Japan, and South Korea. Participant could participate in oral or poster presentation. At first, participants are requested to send an abstract of the paper through the page of Registration & Submission at latest on May 1st, 2017. Abstract must be written in English (Abstract and Poster Guideline). Selected papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (indexed by Scopus and Web of Science) and HAYATI Journal of Biosciences (hosted by Elsevier).

2. Excursion

• Date: 10 August 2017

Three packets of excursion:

2. Culture tourism of Cinangneng Village and Sindang Barang Jero, West Java
3. Bogor Botanical Garden and IPB Dramaga campus tour

The excursion will be held on the last day of the conference. The participants who will participate in this event are expected to register to the committee.
