Future Leaders of @bioipb on International Symposium of Leadership and Entrepreneurship YOUTEX 2016

Five undergraduate students of Biology IPB namely Dwi Egga Prasetyo Ricardi (BIO 49), Resti Afrista (BIO 50), Khoirunnisa Azahra (BIO 51), Ismail Saleh (BIO 51), Humaira Besari (BIO 51) with several other delegates from IPB passed the selection of essays on YOUTEX 2016 “International Symposium of Leadership and Entrepreneurship”. This event was held on  21-24 January 2016 at Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia and Singapore, followed by 94 delegates were selected from about 6,200 applicants are scattered throughout Indonesia who have experience in the field of entrepreneurship.

A series of activities were done including Market Research in several shopping areas in Kuala Lumpur, company visit to Malaysia Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC), and also Malaysia Culture Show in Malaysia Tourist Center. The delegates had  nice  experiences on  Gala dinner with the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture and some CEOs which are engaged in their fields, and also built up relationships with Association of Indonesian Students (PPI) Malaysia, University of Malaya International Student Association and Young Malaysia in the event Networking Night. The International Symposium was held at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore which filled discussion with Mr. Ridwan Hasan as Vice of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, Maulana Bachtiar, Ph.D as the Co-Founder of Global Indonesia Voice, and Siti Aishah Zahari from the National University of Singapore Entrepreneurship Center.

"This event is very good for students in start-up leadership and entrepreneurship to build relationships with activator international", said Khoirunnisa (BIO 51). This event with the theme "Be The Future Leader from Indonesia to ASEAN" trains the participants to prepare for the era of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in order to compete with other developed countries in ASEAN and become the future leaders. Hopefully, the experience and knowledge gained from these activities can develop basic sciences –especially in biology- of delegations of Biology IPB to support the nation's economy.
