Today, March 25, 2015,Department of Biology, Bogor Agricultural University have a meeting with Faculty of Sciences, Universiteit Leiden, Netherlands. This meeting was attended by five staffs of Universiteit Leiden: Prof. Hendrik (Hans) Huibert de Iongh, Ph.D as Head Department of Conservation Biology, Prof. Herman P. Spaink as Director Institute of Biology, etc. Meanwhile, IPB represented by Dr. Sri Nurdiati as Dean Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB, Dr. Ir. Hamim M.Si. as Vice Dean of  Collaboration and Human Resources FMIPA IPB, Dr. Ir. Iman Rusmana M.Si. as Head Department of Biology, FMIPA, IPB, Dr. Ir. Miftahudin M.Si. as PIC of IPB-Universiteit Leiden Collaboration, Dr. Ir. Tatik Chikmawati M.Si., Dr. Eko Heri Purnomo from Directorate of Collaboration and International Programs, Dr. Dra. Nunik S. Ariyanti M.Si., Dr. Ir. Sulistiyorini M.Si., Mafrikhul Muttaqin M.Si., and Hirmas Fuady Putra M.Si..

Introduction between IPB and Leiden University staffs became opening of this meeting. Then, continued with watching short video about IPB, presentation of Faculty of Science, Universiteit Leiden profile, presentation of FMIPA IPB profile, presentation of Department of Biology FMIPA IPB profile, and break for lunch. After break, continued with presentation of  Institute of Biology, Universiteit Leiden profile, presentation of Department Conservation Biology profile, discussion, dan closing (souvenir exchange & photographed together).

In this meeting, both universities showed good response and intended to continue this collaboration become more concrete and  formal. This collaboration initiation will be followed up through  more intensely communications. Both universities have offered several collaboration forms, i.e. Ph.D study opportunities at  Universiteit Leiden, Joint Supervisions, Staff Exchange, Summer Course, Material Exchange, etc., which must first be discussed in more detail by both universities, and then will be written formally in a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding).
