Monday, July 14 to Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Hirmas Fuady Putra, Ph.D., had the opportunity to explore educational research collaboration at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Hirmas successfully passed the internal selection process at IPB through the Directorate of Global Connectivity to visit NTU, alongside 24 other Indonesian faculty members from UI, ITB, UGM, and ITS. This activity is part of the RISING Faculty Immersion Program 2025, organized by NTU.
RISING is a consortium of Indonesian and Singaporean universities. During the three-day program, Indonesian faculty members were invited to tour various educational and research facilities at NTU, including the INOVASI Research Center, the NTU Business School, the School of Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Asian School of Environment. The program included presentations by NTU faculty members and professors, laboratory visits, and discussions on research profiles and academic collaboration opportunities.
During the program, Hirmas highlighted several key points, including opportunities for further studies for IPB students, particularly those in Biology and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), who are interested in continuing their studies at NTU. Additionally, specific research collaborations with certain NTU laboratories could be initiated. As a follow-up to the program, Hirmas opened opportunities for discussions among students and colleagues to establish further communication with NTU.
