On Saturday, 7 September 2017, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held IPB Edu Expo 2017. The event has an aim to educate the participant (senior high school student) and promote study programs of IPB. In the event taken place in Grha Widya Wisuda, all of IPB faculties and schools have participated to promote their study programs. Department of Biology and other Department in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have participated in the event as a single big exhibition booth.
Supervised by Mafrikhul Muttaqin M.Si, three students acted as the Department Ambassadors at the #bioipb booth. The Department of Biology student (Jefrey, Alya, Cindy) has guided the participant to know more about Undergraduate Program in Biology. To make the booth interested, the team built the booth and its goods as a single theme of “the awesome world of biology”. The booth displayed unique plant tissue culture products, human organ miniature, and cute spore of microorganism, paper DNA, and others.
“We don’t know that biology can be so artsy”, A senior high school student from Bogor said it to the ambassador. “It will make the learning process fun”, he added. Mafrikhul Muttaqin M.Si explained that the event will make the visitor get more information about the quality of the Department of Biology and its study programs. “Undergraduate Program in Biology has been accredited ‘A’ by Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi, certified ISO 9002:2017, and, recently, an international certification of ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance” he added.
