Goes to Belitung Island

On 17-18 January 2018, Department of Biology held a trip to Belitung Island. The trip named Family Gathering aims to strengthen the faculty's teamwork as well as to discuss some important plan of Department of Biology in one year. The first day's activities was a visit to the islands around the main island of Belitung. The faculties were having some activities includes sea swimming, a cave visit, and eating some local foods. The faculties also visited the home of Hirmas Fuady Putra M.Si.'s father in law in Tanjung Pandan. The first-day activity was ended by a meeting to discuss one-year activity planning, one-year budget planning, field study, and other plans related to the Department activities.
The second-day activity was a visit to East Belitung, includes souvenir shopping, Kampung Ahok visit, Museum Kata visit, and Ivan Permana Putra M.Si.'s home visit. the day was ended by a trip to the airport to return to Jakarta. On this occasion, Dr. Ir. Ibnul Qayim had a meeting with the Government of East Belitung Regency discussing IPB Regional Envoy Scholarship (Beasiswa Utusan Daerah). In the meantime, Dr. Ir. Rika Raffiudin M.Si. continuing her trip to explore bee biodiversity in Belitung Island.
Dr. Ir. Miftahudin M.Si. said that this activity besides being a refreshing event also can strengthen the relationship between lecturers, especially with the family of two lecturers of the Department of Biology who were Belitung natives. In addition, future activity plans have also been discussed so that the Department has a clear direction for the activities of the year ahead.
